Looking ahead to the latest tech at PPMA Total 2019

Processing solutions specialist Holmach will be presenting a range of novel and thermal shelf life preservation systems at the 2019 PPMA TOTAL Show. UHDE, part of Industrial giant Thyssen Krupp, offers market leading technology for the cold processing of food products and will the system will be highlighted at this year’s PPMA TOTAL show in October.

With over 80 years of experience in the design and manufacture of high pressure systems, the use of High Pressure Processing for foods has accelerated over the last 3 years with the US the leading proponent of the technology, however it is gathering pace in Europe too.

Latest installations include HPP systems for ready meals, another for meats and delicatessen products and the latest for processing fresh lobster, which gives much greater yield than using traditional freezing or thermal processing technology.

Apart from offering a range of capacities from NPD level to over 3 tons per hour, UHDE focuses on providing ultra-reliability and both facilitating and reducing maintenance requirements compared with other systems.

All components are built, tested and certified in house, critical when 6000bar pressures are in use. The company has recently invested in new machinery for the vessel and yoke production, which gives even greater strength, much longer service life of the vessel itself and ultimate reliability over hundreds of thousands of cycles.

UHDE have built high pressure pumps for many applications, so specialist pumps are designed to reduce noise levels and extend service intervals. They can be mounted remotely from the HPP vessel so noise and maintenance can be carried out without disturbing production that can still be continued with a second or third pump still in operation.

In addition to a focus on HPP, Holmach will also showcase machines on stand from Roboqbo, spearheading cut-cook-cool systems for artisanal batch production, and Lagarde, the world's leading manufacturer of autoclave technology.

We look forward to seeing you at the show!
