Trigger Pump Capping and Filling
Antonio Mengibar and his company have an association that stretches back nearly 30 years with the people at Holmach. Antonio and his son Fidel have gradually and successfully developed their company to be world leaders in the filling and capping of products suited to trigger pumps, as well as other household and personal care products.
The World’s leading manufacturers use the engineering skills at Mengibar’s Barcelona factory to produce novel solutions to some really challenging container shapes and difficult to fill liquids. Speeds range from 20 to 500 bottles per minute on volumes ranging from 25 litres to 50ml!
A recently patented development is the “Low Reynolds” nozzle, which eliminates the need for “bottom-up” filling, where the nozzle is constantly dipped in the product. Ideal for foaming products, laminar flow principals de-aerate and eliminate turbulence in the product during filling. This reduces contamination, simplifies machine design and reduces maintenance considerably.
Other technologies include mix and fill, where base material and colour/aromas are mixed during the filling process, stick deodorant, liquid candle and other flammable materials.
